About Maison Oslo
Oslo, felt as much as understood.
Maison Oslo is a quiet alternative to the usual tour: small groups, an urban planner as your guide, and a way of walking the city that asks you to notice it, not simply see it.

Most tours hand you facts and move on. Maison Oslo was built the other way around. I trained as an urban planner, and every walk carries something of that training with it — but it carries just as much of what only happens outdoors: the weather on your face, the sound of a tram crossing the square, the particular colour the fjord turns at six in the evening. You leave knowing more about Oslo, and having felt a little of it too.
These walks are for the curious rather than the comfortable — for guests who would rather notice the detail no guidebook mentions than tick off the sights everyone already knows. If you love art and architecture, if you find yourself wondering why a city looks the way it does and how it came to be lived the way it's lived, this was built for you.
Groups stay small on purpose. Eight guests at most, and most days it's closer to one or four, because a walk like this only really works as a conversation. In time, I hope Maison Oslo becomes less a string of one-off tours and more a small, loose company of people who care about this city — guests who write back months later, who send a photograph from a stop we shared, who come home to the walk they didn't have time for the first visit.
